BLACKFIRE PolyClay & Polish Kit ![BLACKFIRE PolyClay & Polish Kit]()
Create a smooth-as-glass finish
and a "wet-look" shine!
For over a decade,
we've been preaching the benefits of using a clay bar to remove paint
contamination. If you're new to the world of car care and clay bars, paint
contamination consists of tiny metallic particles from brake pad linings and
rail dust created from the friction of train wheels against railroad tracks.
These hot metallic particles fill the air on highways and near railroad tracks
where they ultimately land on your car's finish, burning through any wax or
sealant coating and embedding themselves in the top paint or clear coat layer.
They can be felt as a "rough or gritty" texture on the paint's finish.
Less severe paint contamination consists of overspray, tree sap mist and
industrial pollution. If left untreated, this contamination can cause tiny rust
spots in your car's finish. If you drive your car, it is going to collect paint
contamination. There is no wax or paint sealant that can protect against
contamination from rail dust, brake dust and environmental fallout.
Paint contamination can not be removed by washing, waxing and/or
polishing. Clay bars were developed in Japan
in the early 1990's that removed paint contamination by "pulling" it off the surface. These bars were
not abrasive and did not remove any of the top paint layer. These bars
were brought to the United States where they have been constantly
evolving and improving. BLACKFIRE PolyClay II is the latest in
clay technology. The PolyClay Bars and Clay Lubricant in this Clay and Polish Kit will QUICKLY and SAFELY remove all manner of paint contamination and make
gritty,
rough and bumpy paint smooth as glass. These clay bars will not scratch or
remove your car's paint or clear coat finish.
Clay bars are easy to use.
Simply mist a 2 to 3 sq. ft
area of paint with Clay Lubricant and gently massage the bar over the surface.
At first, the bar will "grab" the surface but after a few passes it
will glide smoothly. When the bar glides smoothly, you're done. Wipe off any
residues with a Microfiber cloth (included in the kit) and continue to clay the
next section. There are more detailed instructions included with the kit but
this is basically how easy it is to clay your car's finish.
Does your car need to be
clayed?
| Try this
simple test.
After washing and drying your vehicle, put your hand inside a plastic
sandwich bag and lightly run your fingertips over the paint's surface.
It should be as smooth as glass. If your car's surface has a
rough, gritty or pebble-like texture, it indicates the presence of paint
contamination. This contamination should be removed as soon as possible
to prevent tiny rust spots from forming. |

After I clay my car, what should I do?
Clay bars will not remove
oxidation (dull paint), swirls, scratches, spots or blemishes. While some people
apply a wax or sealant after claying their car, they are missing an important
step. After claying the finish, you should take the time to apply a polish. Now
that the surface is free of paint contamination, polishing will improve surface
gloss, create a more liquid-like finish and help hide any remaining swirls and
blemishes.
We had dozens of excellent
polishes to choose from and selected BLACKFIRE Gloss Enhancing Polish to
compliment this kit. Gloss Enhancing Polish is two products in one. It is both a
polish and a glaze. In one wipe-on/buff-off application, it makes the surface
more mirror-like to maximize light reflection (shine), "wets" the
surface to create the illusion of paint being under water and fills minor
swirls, spots and imperfections to make them less noticeable.
